05/06/2012 Aghabullogue 0-16 Eire Og 1-13

 

Aghabullogue and Eire Og will have to meet again to decide on the winners of their first round Championship clash following a draw on Tuesday 5th June in Cloughduv. The first half was a very close affair with early points being exchanged between the sides. Four of the Aghabullogue forwards, Dan Twomey, Paudie Twomey, John Kelleher and Tim O’Leary recorded a point each and with Mark O’Flynn on form with frees, Aghabullogue had a tally of  8 points at half time. Eire Og also had 8 points on the scoreboard, with 7 of these scores coming from free’s, so at half time, the sides were level on 8 points a piece.

The second half was again a close affair and points were again exchanged between the sides with the Aghabullogue scores courtesy of Paudie Twomey, Mark O’Flynn, Sean O’Sullivan, Dan Twomey and Kevin Finnegan. With 60 minutes gone, Aghabullogue were leading by 3 points, however Eire Og were awarded a free, which they landed in the back of the Aghabullogue net, leaving the sides on level terms on a score line of 0-16 to 1-13. The sides will meet again on a date yet to be decided.
