The Aghabullogue Junior Hurlers were unlucky to suffer a defeat to Eire Og in their first round of the Championship replay on Tuesday, 12th of June in Ballincollig. Eire Og took the lead from the start however Mark O'Flynn kept Aghabullogue in touch with three points from free's. Ger Hogan also put a point on the scoreboard for Aghabullogue, however Eire Og lead at half time on a scoreline of 0-07 to 0-04.

Mark O'Flynn recorded the first score of the second half with a point from a free for Aghabullogue, however Eire Og pushed ahead again with three points from play, which gave them a five point lead. Aghabullogue upped the ante and Danny Buckley scored an impressive goal. Mark Long added a further point for Aghabullogue, leaving just one point between the sides. Eire Og pushed further ahead and despite the best efforts of the Aghabullogue men and a point from a free from Kevin Finnegan, it was not enough to overcome the Eire Og men. Aghabullogue now await a draw to determine who they will meet in the second round.
