23/10/2011 Aghabullogue 0-18 Cloughduv 2-07
Aghabullogue were deservedly crowned Mid Cork Junior B Hurling Champions on Sunday 23rd October following an emphatic victory over near neighbours Cloughduv.
Cloughduv started the stronger of the two teams and had a goal on the scoreboard within the first minute of the game. Aidan Barry Murphy and Mark O'Flynn responded with
a point each for Aghabullogue, however Cloughduv replied again with another goal and a point leaving five points between the sides. Mark O'Flynn reduced the margin by a point with
a point from a free. Cloughduv cancelled this out with another point from play, but with Mark O'Flynn and Mark Long adding further points for Aghabullogue, there was only one goal between the sides. Cloughduv finished the scoring of the first half with two points from play, which gave them a lead at half time on a scoreline of 2-04 to 0-06.
Kevin Finnegan opened the scoring of the second half with a great point from play for Aghabullogue, however Cloughduv quickly replied with a point from play. Mark O'Flynn added another point for Aghabullogue with a great point from a free, however Cloughduv again responded with a point from play.
Aghabullogue upped their performance and with their backs dominating in defense and their forwards on top form, Aghabullogue recorded the next
eight points, with Mark O'Flynn, Kevin Finnegan and Tim Buckley each contributing! Despite being down to fourteen men, Aghabullogue never gave up and showed great determination and strength of character as they came from behind to take the lead. Cloughduv did manage to record another score with a
point from play, however Aghabullogue finished the game out with great scores coming from Mark Long and Mark O'Flynn. Aghabullogue ran out well deserved winners in the end on a scoreline of 0-18 to 2-07, on what was a very proud day for Aghabullogue! Team captain, Paddy Foley then
lifted the cup on behalf of the men in green and white!
