Meelin 2-18 Aghabullogue 0-12
Aghabullogue were defeated in the first round of the Intermediate Hurling Championship by Meelin, which now means they face Dripsey in the second round of the Championship.
The game started very competively and there was little between the sides. 2 goals for Meelin however pushed Meelin ahead and they never lost this cushion over the entire game. Despite the best
efforts of the Aghabullogue team and good scores from John Corkery and Dónal Twomey and points from free's from Mark Flynn, Aghabullogue went in at half time down the two goals, the scoreboard reading 2-08 to
Greg Murphy opened the second half scoring with an impressive point for Aghabullogue, however this was quickly cancelled out by a number of points from Meelin. Mark Flynn, recorded another 2 points from
free's for Aghabullogue and Greg Murphy added another point from play for Aghabullogue, however this was not enough to overcome a determined Meelin side. Meelin ran out winners in the end on a scoreline
of 2-18 to 0-12. Aghabullogue will now play Dripsey in the second round of the Championship in 2 weeks time.
