Intermediate Hurling Championship - Aghabullogue V Mallow (First Round) Report Page

07/05/2008  Aghabullogue  2-12   Mallow  0-10

Aghabullogue Intermediate Hurlers started their championship season on a high note with an inspiring win over Mallow in the first round on May 7th in Donoughmore. Mallow opened the scoring with a point from a free, but this was quickly cancelled out by a Patrick Finnegan free. Points were exchanged between the sides before Dan Twomey landed a rocket of a goal in the Mallow net just before half time, leaving the half time score as 1-5 to 0-6 in favour of Aghabullogue. In the second half, Aghabullogue put on an exhibition of hurling, scoring some great points from play as well as from frees. Olan Healy scored another great goal following a well executed hand pass from Donal Casey. Aghabullogue ran out well deserved and convincing winners in the end on a final scoreline of 2-12 to 0-10. All Aghabullogue players must be complemented on their great performance and their sheer determination and commitment. They are now through to the next round, the draw for which has yet to be made.
