23/05/2009 Aghabullogue 0-15 Kildorrery 1-12
Aghabullogue and Kildorrery will have to meet again to determine who goes through to the next round of the Intermediate Football Championship. The game, which was played in Mourneabbey on a glorious evening turned out to be a game of two halves.
Aghabullogue dominated the first half showing sheer class and seemed to have no bother finding target. Eoin Kennedy opened the scoring with a great point from the right wing. This score was quickly followed by more great scores from John Kelleher, Patrick Finnegan and John Hogan.
Kildorrery seemed to have no answer for the Aghabullogue men and their first score came as a goal, well into the first half, leaving the scoreline as 0-08 to 1-00.
John Hogan pointed two more frees for Aghabullogue, and with Kildorrery scoring two more points, the half time scoreline read 0-10 to 1-02 in favour of Aghabullogue.
The second half proved to be a different story and despite the first score coming from Niall Buckley, Kildorrery dominated and pointed 8 points before Aghabullogue replied again. Aghabullogue came back into the game again and points from Patrick Finnegan, Niall Buckley, Dónal Twomey and Kenneth Hogan gave Aghabullogue a one point lead with a few minutes remaining. Kildorrery added another point, which turned out to be the last score of the game and ended the game with the teams on level pegging.
