Aghabullogue Intermediate Footballers recorded an impressive win over Glanmire in the first round of their 2014 Intermediate Football Championship campaign on Saturday, 10th May in Pairc Uí Rinn. There was little between the sides in the first half and some great scores were recorded by both sides, with John Corkery and Evan O'Sullivan getting their names on the scoresheet for Aghabullogue, with John Corkery scoring an impressive 5 points, 4 of which were from play and Evan adding one point to Aghabullogue's tally. Glanmire did score 4 points in the first half, which meant that Aghabullogue lead at half time on a scoreline of 0-06 to 0-04.

Glanmire dominated the play for the first 10 minutes of the second half and added 1-03 to their tally before reply from Aghabullogue. The men in green and white dug deep and were not found wanting when they were tasked to respond. Patrick Finnegan, John Kelleher and Evan O'Sullivan added great scores following some well worked moves from the entire team. Aghabullogue worked hard for the latter minutes of the game to hold their lead and deny Glanmire of a victory. A real team performance from Aghabullogue ensured a well deserved victory for them on a scoreline of 1-09 to 1-07 and a place in the next round of the Intermediate Football Championship.
