Aghabullogue returned to winning ways following an emphatic performance against Cloyne in the second round of the Intermediate Football Championship on Wednesday 27th June in Pairc Uí Rinn.
Aghabullogue had a majestic start to the game with Niall Buckley recording the first score of the game with a point from play. John Corkery tapped over three further points, with two of these
coming from free's, which gave them a lead of 0-04 to no score. Cloyne, however replied scoring 1-06, without reply from Aghabullogue. John Buckley made an impressive save
for Aghabullogue, which inspired John Corkery and Robert O'Keeffee to kick a point each, leaving just a goal between the sides at half time. Half time score read 1-06 to 0-06 in favour of Cloyne.
Aghabullogue dominated the second half and through sheer determination and great ball work, they recorded some great scores. Evan O'Sullivan kicked
a great goal for Aghabullogue, following a well executed pass from Niall Buckley, leaving the sides on level terms just minutes into the second half.
Jerome Corkery and Robert O'Keeffe added a point each from play for Aghabullogue, which gave them a well deserved lead of two points. Cloyne did manage
to score two further points, however the never say die attitude of the Aghabullogue men, saw them push ahead again with three great points from Aghabullogue corner forward John Corkery.
Aghbaullogue ran out well deserved winners in the end on a scoreline of 1-11 to 1-08 and now go into an open draw to see who they face in the next round of the Championship.
