Intermediate Football 2nd Round Championship - V Ballyclough Report Page

01/06/2008  Aghabullogue  1-11   Ballyclough  0-10

Aghabullogue’s Intermediate Footballers got their 2008 football championship campaign back on track following a well deserved win over Ballyclough on Sunday June 1st in Dromtariff. Despite the heat and humidity the Aghabullogue men fought hard for the 60 minutes and lead from the very first throw in to the final whistle. Aghabullogue started very strongly and very quickly had two points on the scoreboard thanks to John Hogan and John Kelleher. Both sides kicked some great scores during the following passages of play. A vital score came for Aghabullogue when Patrick Finnegan set David O'Leary up for a great score just before half time, leaving the half time score 1-06 to 0-06.

Aghabullogue continued to keep their foot on the pedal in the second half and the men in the green and white put some very impressive scores on the score board. The Aghabullogue defence was very strong throughout the match but in particular in the latter stages of the second half when they off held some last minute attacks from the Ballyclough forwards.
