Intermediate Camogie Championship V Sarsfields Report Page

22/08/2012 Aghabullogue 3-03 Sarsfields 1-06

The Aghabullogue Intermediate Camogie ladies recorded another impressive win in the round robin championship competition, when they defeated Sarsfields on Wednesday 22nd August in Castle Road. Some great hurling was displayed during this very close contest; however it was the ladies in green in white who emerged stronger and ran out worthy winners in the end. Aghabullogue had the upper hand for the duration of the first half and with great scores coming from Sarah Dineen, Caroline Kiely, Ciara Murphy and Michelle Healy, Aghabullogue lead at half time on a scoreline of 2-02 to 1-02.

The second half was a much closer affair and all the Aghabullogue ladies worked tirelessly to keep the Sarsfields forwards at bay. Michelle Healy recorded a hard worked goal for Aghabullogue and Caroline Kiely recorded an impressive point for Aghabullogue, which ensured a victory for Aghabullogue on a scoreline of 3-03 to 1-06.

Following this game, three of the four teams (Aghabullogue, Newtownshandrum and Tracton) in the group had 4 points each and a draw was required to determine, which team would receive a bye to the Semi Final and which two of the three teams would have to playoff for the other Semi Final spot. Aghabullogue have now received a bye to the Semi Final of the competition, which is due to be played on August 8th.
